Incarnational blogging

Bypassing the whole metacognitive thing, Jane Redmont "with a t" (Acts of Hope) and Simple Village Organist took a face-to-face meeting last night at popular downtown L.A. eatery Ciudad. The sacrament of tapas and mojitos was shared. Jane is just as mile-a-minute in person as she is on her blog; SVO is exhausted from trying to keep up!

Jane is too shy to say so (in your dreams!), but the real reason for her visit to L.A. was the dedication of her Hollywood Blvd. shrine.

To match your nails!

I painted them just for you, honey (and for the stodgy theologians before that -- there is one other woman at that annual conference --who also does this and we always wave our fingertips at each other when we see each other for the first time).

How did I miss this? Hi there! It's so great to see both of you!

Ed, with your coloring you really could be my brother! (Sunblock. Don't live in L.A. without it.)

It's great to be able to put faces on the two of you. You don't look the way I expected, but you're both quite good-looking. I wouldn't be ashamed to share a table with you.

Jane, you should have displayed your fingernails in the picture.

Good lookin' peeps!

Glad to be able to put faces to your lovely blogs and thoughts!

Mimi, if you look carefully you will see the red nails on one of my hands. It's the left hand, in the crook of my right arm. (i.e. on my left in the photo.)

Ah, you must have thought I was a crusty-lookin' bluestocking type.

The smile was slightly forced because the person we had take the picture was on her fourth try, after several blurry pictures. (Maybe she was blurry from whatever they drank over at their table.)

pj: The, er, glamorous lighting makes me look sort of blond (like when I was a child). But it's true that the California sunshine is largely wasted on me, as I'm almost afraid to go out in it!!!

Jane, I see them now that you've pointed them out. They are really bright. I say why use nail polish at all, if you don't go bright.

Jane R said...

That's my philosophy. I only wear nail polish about three times a year (and I keep my nails short, though they are strong and grow well -- I just can't be bothered to care for them and it's easier to stay clean, snip snip snip) but when I do it's bright red. Might as well!

You two are so cute!

And I trust that the movie project has moved forward now by leaps and bounds. Casting announcements eagerly awaited.

Actually, we decided the casting situation was so complex that we had to make a retreat --yet to be scheduled-- to work out the more difficult details. So we had mojitos and tapas and delayed the big decisions. It was a spiritual necessity.

P.S. Thanks for the compliment. Having a good time and consuming Latin-fusion edibles and drinkables increases the cute factor in people, you know.
